I really had no interest in the gender of Terry when I read the comic for the first time. Which was given to me by a guy. I was surprised, however, when I finally pulled myself out of the SiP world long enough to learn that Terry was male. It was my personal belief and understanding that all males were dumb, boob chasing animals who only produced huge unrealisticly muscular super hero comics (no offense =0)to all you guys). I'm very glad that Terry (not to mention David) could prove me wrong. I feel so enlightened.

Jack nicholson said something about creating believable women in literature in as good as it gets...(Just kidding)
I gave SIP to my (now ex-)girlfriend and she totally likes it. She can?t wait for the next issue to come out. I haven?t seen a person reading SIP who didn?t like it. It?s just great

Hi!
Newbie here, how you doing?
My sister has alway taken the mickey out of me for reading comics. Thinks its real nerdy. She's been poking fun for years. A few days ago, I made her read the first two SiP novels and the change was amazing.
Her exact words were: "It's poetry...and it's like a film but more so 'cause every frame show's so much."
Yesterday I caught her buying the WannaBlessedBe from our local comic shop.
Ahh. A convert. I love it when that happens http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hey all!!
I guess I am a new convert to SIP, you see, a long time ago my Comic-addicted, now ex husband got me the TB HIGHSCHOOL. I read it once and somehoe forgot about it, but then I read it again, and now I am hooked. I've been buying back issues like a fiend, and wwill be one of those geeks hanging out at the comic shop on release days. (BTW: There is only 1 shop in this loser town that even carries SIP, the rest are into the spandex and tights thing ) Anyway, I just wanted to say HI and join the disussion group. Soory if this doesn't make COMPLEATE sense, it't 4:30 am and I took actifed 30 min. ago.)
40 IS OUT TOMMORROW!!!!!!!!!!

I had actually read that the comic book was done by a male before ever reading an issue. Then I got a chance to read some issues abd found out what it was all about. And even knowing Terry was male still makes one stop and think 'a guy wrote this?'

hi,I just registered about five minutes ago, this message here was the main reason why. I was so excited to see someone else from the E.L. Mi area here,I had to register right away. I've read SIP for about four years now with a few brief lapses. I was hooked by my exes former roommate, while jonesin for some new reading material. How I wish I could thank her,I didn't realize at the time that I was getting my self into a long term commitment here(the comic, which outlasted the guy)
Anyway, hope to post more soon, and get to know as many of you as I can
OK, I've been trying to get my roommate to try SIP for the past few years, ever since we met actually. She just won't do it, and it's infuriating because I've gotten everyone I know who wasn't into SIP already, to become major T-Shirt bearing, bust collecting, card trading fiends for Terry's work. Anyhoo. I've tried the old "It's not a comic, it's a Graphic Novel" and the ever popular "Just read it you'll think differently after." Any suggestions on how I can get her to read it (Keeping in mind that the storyline is something she WOULD like, she just can't (her words) "Reduce herself to reading a comic")

I converted two of my friends during a car ride to Kansas City last month, and as I will soon be moving into a house with 3 other friends, I plan to get them all hooked too. Yay!

I gave my best friend the first few trades a few years ago and shes been a reader and collector ever sinse, ofcourse it was a bit easier for me than most because she was a big "Groo" fan and liked "Cloak and Dagger" and "Spiderman" as well in her adolesence.
I have yet to give a copy to someone whos never touched a comic. Now thats hard. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/wink.gif

I will be eternally greatful to my friends for 'hooking' me.
Is your friend artistic? Maybe you can hook her with the artwork. Especially the covers on the collections.
